Nestled on Msuna Island on the Zambezi River, Zimbabwe, Jacana Lodge is an exclusive-use, self-catering safari retreat built for groups who want complete privacy. With four en-suite bedrooms sleeping up to eight guests, the lodge offers a rare combination of comfort and seclusion — a private pool, covered braai area, river-facing deck, and sweeping views across one of Africa's great rivers.

Whether you're here for world-class tiger fishing, sundowner cruises on the pontoon, or simply to unwind in the African bush, Jacana Lodge puts you at the heart of it all. A dedicated cook is included for your stay, and our provisioning service means you can arrive to a fully stocked kitchen — all you need to bring is your sense of adventure.

This is not a hotel. There are no other guests, no schedules, and no interruptions. Just your group, the river, and the sounds of the Zambezi.

Yes — Jacana Lodge is an exclusive-use property. Your group books the entire lodge, so you have the pool, braai area, and all facilities entirely to yourselves.
Rates are per person per night and vary by group size: 4 guests — $65, 5 guests — $60, 6 guests — $55, 7 guests — $50, 8 guests — $45 (all USD). Boat hire is $70/day and pontoon hire is $100/day, both excluding fuel.
We recommend a minimum of 3 nights to make the most of your Zambezi experience, though shorter stays may be available on request depending on the season.
A skipper is included with boat hire. Guests are welcome to bring their own rods and tackle. Basic equipment may be available at the lodge — please enquire when booking. The Zambezi is renowned for tiger fish, vundu catfish, and bream.
Yes — a dedicated cook is included for the duration of your stay, experienced in fresh Zambezi fish, local dishes, and international cuisine. A provisioning service is also available: email your shopping list to [email protected] at least 48 hours before arrival. A service fee applies.
The lodge is located near Mlibizi on the western end of Lake Kariba, approximately 2.5 hours from Victoria Falls. The nearest town with shops and fuel is a short drive away.
We recommend sun protection, insect repellent, and sturdy footwear for bush walks. A valid passport and any required visas for Zimbabwe are essential. Your host will send a full packing list on confirmation.
